Oxygas Limited was honored to participate in the Oxygen Stakeholders’ Meeting organized by the Ministry of Health, in partnership with FreeO2, held at Fairway Hotel, Kampala. The meeting brought together key players in the health and oxygen supply sector with a shared goal of strengthening oxygen access across Uganda.

The engagement provided an important platform for discussions on the critical role of medical oxygen in healthcare delivery, especially in emergency care, neonatal support, and treatment of respiratory conditions. One of the key areas of focus was the use of oxygen concentrators, including best practices for deployment, maintenance, and sustainability within health facilities across the country.

Participants also explored the future prospects of establishing oxygen plants in all regions of Uganda. These discussions emphasized the need for regional oxygen production to reduce supply gaps, improve response time, and ensure reliable access to oxygen for both urban and rural health facilities. Building regional plants was highlighted as a long-term solution to strengthening the national healthcare system.

In addition, meaningful dialogue took place around government support and financial facilitation for oxygen distributors and manufacturers. Stakeholders discussed how the Government of Uganda can play a more active role through policy support, funding mechanisms, and partnerships that empower oxygen suppliers to expand capacity, improve infrastructure, and maintain affordable pricing for medical oxygen nationwide.

Oxygas Limited remains committed to supporting Uganda’s healthcare system by delivering high-quality, reliable, and safe oxygen solutions. Attending this oxygen meet reaffirmed our dedication to collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth within the oxygen supply chain.

We extend our appreciation to the Ministry of Health and FreeO2 for organizing such a timely and impactful forum. Oxygas Limited looks forward to continued collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure equitable access to oxygen for all Ugandans, today and in the future.
